Happy 70th birthday to Harry Carson! Carson played linebacker for 13 seasons for the New York Giants, 1976 to 1988. He won one Super Bowl ring, in Super Bowl XXI against the Denver Broncos, capping off the 1986 season. Carson made the Pro Bowl 9 times, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
Carson is pictured here on his 1979 Topps card. He scored one of his two career touchdowns in 1979, on a fumble return against the Kansas City Chiefs. His second score came in 1986, when he caught a pass for a touchdown on a fake field goal play against the Philadelphia Eagles. There’s a video of the play on YouTube.
