Yesterday I added 1966 Packers Coke Caps to the Vintage Football Card Gallery. There are 36 caps in the set. It’s quite a collection of stars: Twenty-three of the players are members of the the Packers Hall of Fame, and ten are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Packers won their second straight NFL Championship in 1966, then went on to beat the AFL Champion Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl I.
Today’s “card” of the day is Lee Roy Caffey’s 1966 Packers Coke Cap. Caffey played linebacker for ten seasons in the NFL: one with the Philadelphia Eagles, six with the Packers, then one each with the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, and San Diego Chargers. His best year was 1966, when he was voted First-Team All-Pro. He was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1986.
Caffey appeared on a few cards, as well. You can see all of Caffey’s cards and the full set of 1966 Packers Coke Caps in the Gallery.
