Happy 70th birthday to Beasley Reece! Reece was a defensive back for nine seasons in the NFL, playing for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 1983, a year he started with the Giants but finished with the Buccaneers, Reece intercepted eight passes, second-most in the league. He played on two playoff teams, the 1976 Cowboys and 1981 Giants.
After the NFL, Reece had a long career in sports broadcasting. According to his page on Wikipedia, he is also an Eagle Scout and a classical piano player. There is a nice article about Reece at sjmagazine.net.
Today’s card of the day is Reece’s rookie card, a 1980 Topps.
