Yesterday I added 1980 Los Angeles Rams Police cards to the Vintage Football Card Gallery. There are fourteen cards in the set, and their design is similar to the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals Police cards I added earlier this week. The backs of the cards show that they were sponsored in part by the local Kiwanis Club.
Today’s card of the day is Jack Youngblood’s 1980 Rams Police card. Youngblood played defensive end for fourteen years in the NFL, all with the Rams. He led the league in sacks in 1974 and 1979, and he was named a first-team All-Pro five times. Youngblood played in one Super Bowl, XIV, which the Rams lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
Not surprisingly, Youngblood appeared on a lot of cards. You can see all of his cards and the full set of 1980 Rams Police cards in the Gallery.
I wouldn’t say that this one of his best, but Jack has some really neat cards out there.
