Kent Kramer, who played tight end for eight seasons in the NFL, passed away on February 21. He was 79. Kramer played one year for the San Francisco 49ers, one for the New Orleans Saints, two for the Minnesota Vikings, and four for the Philadelphia Eagles. In 1967, he became one of the original New Orleans Saints when the team picked him up from the 49ers in the NFL Expansion Draft. He played in one Super Bowl, the Vikings’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl IV.
Today’s card of the day is Kramer’s 1968 Topps card. It is Kramer’s only appearance on a card of his own. If you look hard, you can also find him on the Saints’ 1968 Topps Team Photo, on the far right end of the back row.
