Last week I added 1980 Atlanta Falcons Police cards to the Vintage Football Card Gallery. This is the nicest police set I’ve added so far: It contains cards of thirty players, rather than the typical ten to fifteen, and all of the players are pictured in sharp head-and-shoulder shots. Four of the players in the set are members of the Falcons Honor Roll. The backs of the cards show that they were co-sponsored by the Atlanta Police Athletic League, the Northside Atlanta Jaycees, and Coca-Cola.
Today’s card of the day is Mike Kenn’s 1980 Falcons Police card. Kenn played tackle for seventeen years with the Falcons, from 1978 to 1994. He was named a first-team All-Pro twice, and a second-team All-Pro three times. Kenn was inducted into the Falcons Honor Roll in 2008. His rookie card is a 1981 Topps, so this is a pre-rookie card.
You can see the full set of 1980 Falcons Police cards in the Gallery.
