Jim Bradshaw, who played defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1963 to 1967, is celebrating his 85th birthday today. Bradshaw had eleven career interceptions, including three in a 1965 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. In 1964, he led the NFL with 80 fumble return yards and two fumbles returned for touchdowns. The latter–two fumbles returned for touchdowns in a season–is an NFL record that he shares with many other players.
Today’s card of the day is Bradshaw’s 1966 Philadelphia football card. It is one of the toughest cards in the set to find in high grades, probably due to its position on the edge of the uncut sheet. See the Gallery’s virtual uncut sheet of 1966 Philadelphia cards for details.
Bradshaw also appeared on a 1963 IDL Steelers photo, which you can see in the Gallery. An article in my old blog describes the 1963 IDL set.
Happy birthday, Mr. Bradshaw!
