Ken Adamson, who played guard for three seasons for the Denver Broncos, passed away on November 14. He was 85. Adamson was one of the original Broncos, joining the team in the AFL’s first season, 1960.
Adamson is shown here on his rookie card, a 1960 Fleer, in his Notre Dame uniform. (There’s a nice picture of him with Notre Dame coach Joe Kuharich on the Helmet Hut web site.) Adamson appeared on regular issue cards in all three years of his career, an unusual honor for an offensive lineman. In the 1960s, typically only the ball-handling players made regular appearances on cards.
You can see all of Ken Adamson’s cards in the Vintage Football Card Gallery.
