Uncut Sheet of 1968 Topps Stand Up Football Cards
Below is a virtual uncut 132-card half-sheet of 1968 Topps Stand Up football cards. If you hold your cursor above a card, your browser should show you the name of the player. Clicking on a card will bring up the full-sized scan. (A real uncut sheet would not have black lines between the cards--that is an effect of scanning them individually.)
The virtual sheet below is modeled after a real half-sheet pictured on the Robert Edward Auctions web site. I presume that the other half of the 264-card full sheet was identical to this half. (For an example of a 264-card full sheet, see this sheet of 1966 Topps baseball cards.)
1968 Topps Stand Ups were inserts in packs of 1968 Topps football cards. There are 22 cards in the set, and this half-sheet contains six full sets. Every other row on the sheet is inverted; this was to ensure that the red ink at the bottom of each card went precisely to the edge, even if the card was slightly miscut. Topps used the same technique on sheets of first series 1969 Topps football cards.
