1965 Topps Football Cards

1965 Topps football card wrapperThere are 176 cards in the 1965 Topps football card set. The set contains only AFL players; NFL players are represented in the 1965 Philadelphia set. The price guides say that 132 of the 1965 Topps cards are short prints (or, in other words, 44 are double prints), but I am skeptical, so I don't have them marked here. I have not seen an uncut sheet of 1965 Topps football cards, but there were 99 cards on a half-sheet of 1969 Topps basketball cards, which are the same size. A full sheet would thus hold 198 cards. My guess is that the full 1965 Topps football card set was printed on a single sheet, with 22 double prints.
