Uncut Sheets of 1961 Topps Football Cards

1961 Topps football cards were issued in two series: the first containing National Football League players, and the second containing American Football League players. The series were printed on separate sheets.

Series 1: NFL Players

The following diagram shows a virtual half-sheet of 1st series 1961 Topps cards; it is modeled after an actual half-sheet that appeared in an REA auction. The half-sheet contains the entire 132-set series. The other half-sheet would have contained another full set, but its rows might have been in a different order: the top four rows might have been moved to the bottom, for instance. The full sheet would have resembled this 264-card sheet of 1966 Topps baseball cards.

Series 2: AFL Players

There are 66 cards in the 1961 Topps second series, all showing American Football League players. The series would have fit exactly four times on a 264-card full sheet, with no short prints or double prints. I have not seen a sheet, just one miscut card that showed what a tiny piece of the sheet looked like. If you see a second series sheet, partial sheet, or badly miscut card, please send me an email.
