1979 Seahawks Police Football Cards
The 1979 Seattle Seahawks Police set is one of the earliest NFL police sets. (The Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs also appeared in police sets in 1979.) The cards are larger than standard trading cards, at about 4 by 2 1/2 inches. The backs of the Seahawks cards show that they were sponsored in part by Coca-Cola.
This sixteen-card set includes thirteen players, coach Jack Patera, one of the "Sea Gals" (cheerleaders), and the Seahawks mascot, cleverly named "The Seahawk."
