1979 Cowboys Police Football Cards
The 1979 Dallas Cowboys Police set is one of the earliest NFL police sets. (The Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks also had police sets in 1979.) The police cards are larger than standard trading cards, at about 4 by 2 1/2 inches. The backs of the Cowboys cards contain "Cowboys Tips," bits of advice for kids to help them stay out of trouble.
There are two short prints in the 15-card set. Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson was cut for disciplinary reasons during the 1979 season (maybe he should have read the Cowboys Tips!), and his card was replaced by D.D. Lewis.
