1961 Topps CFL Football Cards
There are 132 cards in the 1961 Topps CFL football card set. The set would have fit exactly twice on a full 264-card sheet, so there are no short prints or double prints. One strange (and annoying) feature of the set is that the backs of half of the player cards are oriented one way, and the backs of the rest are turned 180 degrees. Every sixth card or so, the orientation of the back is flipped. Topps did not do this in their 1961 NFL/AFL set, and I can't even guess at a reason they would have done it in their CFL set.
One notable player in the 1961 Topps CFL set is Jim G. Taylor, whose picture Topps mistakenly used on the 1959 and 1960 Topps cards of Jim C. Taylor, the Packers great. Another is Bronko Nagurski Jr., the son of the NFL Hall of Famer.
