Happy 75th birthday to Clarence Davis! Davis played running back for the Oakland Raiders from 1971 to 1978. His best season statistically was 1977, when he gained 911 yards from scrimmage. Davis was a major contributor in the Raiders’ win over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI, with 137 yards rushing.
Davis played college football at USC. In 1969, he led the Pac-8 with 1357 rushing yards and was named an All-American.
Today’s card of the day is Davis’s rookie card, a 1975 Topps. He appeared on several other Topps cards, as well.
