Happy 70th birthday to Mark Burke! Burke played defensive back for the Philadelphia Eagles in one game in 1976. He is one of sixteen players in the Gallery who played in exactly one NFL, AFL, or AAFC game. Those sixteen players are immortalized on the Gallery’s Cups of Coffee page.
Today’s card of the day is Burke’s 1974 West Virginia University Playing Card. Burke is one of six players in the deck who saw playing time in the NFL or AFL. The deck also features a card of the WVU cheerleaders–one of whom became Lady Gaga’s mom.
