Happy 75th birthday to Elmo Wright! Wright played wide receiver for five seasons in the NFL: from 1971 to 1974 for the Kansas City Chiefs, and in 1975 for the New England Patriots and Houston Oilers. He played in one playoff game, in 1971–and gained 104 yards on three receptions.
Before his pro career, Wright starred at the University of Houston. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
Today’s card of the day is Wright’s rookie card, a 1974 Topps. He also appeared on a 1972 Sunoco stamp and a 1975 Topps football card.
