Marvin Upshaw, who played defensive end and defensive tackle for nine seasons in the NFL, passed away on June 4. He was 77. Upshaw played from 1968 to 1969 for the Cleveland Browns, from 1970 to 1975 for the Kansas City Chiefs, and in 1976 for the St. Louis Cardinals. He played on three playoff teams: the 1968 and 1969 Browns and the 1971 Chiefs.
Upshaw was the younger brother of Gene Upshaw, the Hall of Fame guard of the Oakland Raiders. Gene Upshaw passed away in 2008.
Today’s card of the day is Marvin Upshaw’s rookie card, a 1973 Topps. He appeared on a few later Topps cards, as well.
