Happy 80th birthday to Don Hansen! Hansen played linebacker for eleven seasons in the NFL: 1966 and 1967 for the Minnesota Vikings, 1969 to 1975 for the Atlanta Falcons, 1976 for the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, and 1977 for the Packers. He was an original Seattle Seahawk, acquired from the Falcons in the 1976 NFL Expansion Draft, but he played just two games for Seattle before being traded to Green Bay.
Prior to his pro career, Hansen played college football at the University of Illinois. He was a member of the 1963 Illini team that won the Big Ten championship and beat the Washington Huskies in the Rose Bowl.
Today’s card of the day is Hansen’s rookie card, a 1973 Topps. He appeared on a couple more Topps cards, as well.
