Happy 80th birthday to David Ray! Ray was a kicker for seven seasons in the CFL and NFL: 1968 for the Montreal Alouettes, and 1969 to 1974 for the Los Angeles Rams. In 1973, he led the NFL with 47 field goal attempts, 30 field goals, and 130 points.
Ray played college football for the University of Alabama. He was a member of the Crimson Tide teams that won the National Championship in 1964 and 1965.
Today’s card of the day is Ray’s rookie card, a 1973 Topps. He also appeared on a few other Topps cards.
