Happy 80th birthday to Dave Long! Long played defensive end and defensive tackle for seven seasons in the NFL: 1966 to 1968 for the St. Louis Cardinals and 1969 to 1972 for the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at the University of Iowa.
Today’s card of the day is Long’s 1973 Topps card–one of over 200 rookie cards in the set. It is his only appearance on a regular issue card, and it was printed the year after his last season. He also appeared on a 1972 Sunoco Stamp.
