Happy 70th birthday to Al Darby! Darby played tight end for the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Oilers in 1976, and for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1978. He was an original Seahawk, acquired by the team in the 1976 NFL Draft. He played just one game for Seattle, though, before moving on to Houston.
Today’s card of the day is Darby’s 1973 University of Florida Playing Card. This scarce deck of cards includes 51 Gators players and coach Doug Dickey. At least ten of the players went on to play in the NFL, and three played in the WFL. You can see the full deck in the Gallery.
