Happy 75th birthday to Dan Dierdorf! Dierdorf was an offensive lineman from 1971 to 1983 for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was named a First-Team All-Pro three straight seasons, and he went to the Pro Bowl six times. Dierdorf was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996, and into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
After retiring from football, Dierdorf was a radio and TV broadcaster for 38 years. He was an analyst for twelve years on ABC’s Monday Night Football, and for seventeen years at CBS.
Today’s “card” of the day is Dierdorf’s 1972 Sunoco Stamp. Dierdorf’s rookie card is a 1973 Topps, so this stamp is a pre-rookie issue. For more pre-rookie cards and stamps, see the Gallery’s pre-rookie card page.
