Al Randolph is celebrating his 80th birthday today. Randolph played defensive back in the NFL from 1966 to 1974. He spent his first five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, then played for six teams in his last four years: the Green Bay Packers in 1971, the Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals in 1972, the Minnesota Vikings in 1973, and the 49ers and Buffalo Bills in 1974. Whew! He finished his career with 11 interceptions, a touchdown, and a safety.
Today’s card of the day is Randolph’s 1972 Sunoco Stamp. The stamp shows him with the Packers, but he played for the Lions and Bengals in 1972. He also appeared on a couple of 49ers team issues, but I haven’t yet added those to the Gallery.
Happy birthday, Mr. Randolph!
