Dave Williams, who played wide receiver for seven seasons in the NFL, passed away on June 19. He was 78. Williams played for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1967 to 1971, the San Diego Chargers in 1972, and the Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers in 1973. Statistically, his best NFL season was 1969, when he caught 56 passes for 702 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams also played two seasons, 1974 and 1975, for the World Football League’s Southern California Sun.
Williams played college football at the University of Washington. He also starred in track for the Huskies.
