I couldn’t decide on a card of the day today, so I used the Gallery’s “Wild Card” feature to pick a random card. (Try it! There’s a link at the top of every page.) The winner: a 1968 O-Pee-Chee CFL card of William Neel “Butch” Pressley.
Pressley played running back for six seasons in the CFL: 1964 to 1966 with the Edmonton Eskimos and 1967 to 1969 with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He rushed for a career total of 2277 yards, plus he gained 767 yards receiving. Before the CFL, he played college football at Texas A&I– now Texas A&M-Kingsville. He is a member of the school’s Javelina Hall of Fame.
As far as I know, this is Pressley’s only card.
I don’t hear the nickname “Butch” very often anymore. I wondered how many were in the Gallery, so I did a search and found a couple more. There are also a few Buds, Buddys, Buzzes, and Bubbas. Alas, there are no Biffs. Not yet, anyway.
