Happy Fourth of July, and happy 85th birthday to Lee Folkins! Folkins played tight end for five seasons in the NFL: 1961 with the Green Bay Packers, 1962 to 1964 with the Dallas Cowboys, and 1965 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played on one NFL Championship team, the 1961 Packers, and he made the Pro Bowl in 1963 with the Cowboys.
Folkins played college football at the University of Washington. He helped the Huskies win two straight Rose Bowls, in 1959 against Wisconsin, and in 1960 against Minnesota.
Today’s card of the day is Folkins’s 1964 Philadelphia card. He also appeared on a 1964 Wheaties Stamp.
