Booker Edgerson is celebrating his 85th birthday today. Edgerson played defensive back for nine seasons in the AFL and NFL: 1962 to 1969 for the Buffalo Bills, and 1970 for the Denver Broncos. He was an AFL All-Star in 1965, and he was a member of the Bills’ AFL Championship teams of 1964 and 1965. He was added to the Bills Wall of Fame in 2010.
Edgerson played college football for the Western Illinois University Leathernecks. His page at the WIU Athletics Hall of Fame says he also lettered in track, baseball, and wrestling. Wow!
Today’s card of the day is Edgerson’s rookie card, a 1963 Fleer. He also appeared on a couple of other cards with the Bills.
Happy birthday, Mr. Edgerson!
