Happy 95th birthday to Art Hauser! Hauser played defensive tackle for seven seasons in the NFL and AFL: from 1954 to 1957 for the Los Angeles Rams, in 1959 for the Chicago Cardinals and New York Giants, in 1960 for the Boston Patriots, and in 1961 for the Denver Broncos. He played on two NFL teams that won division championships: the 1955 Rams and 1959 Giants.
Hauser played college football at Xavier University in Cincinnati. He was inducted into the Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983.
Today’s card of the day is Hauser’s 1954 Rams Team Issue Photo, which was issued in his rookie season. As you can see, it is a fun, exaggerated action shot, like many of the photos in the set. Hauser never appeared on a regular issue card, but he did appear in a couple more Rams team issues.
