Today I used the Gallery’s Wild Card feature (try it!–it’s at the top of every page) to pick the vintage football card of the day. It picked a 1953 Bowman card of Johnny Williams.
Williams played defensive back for three seasons in the NFL: 1952 and 1953 with the Washington Redskins, and 1954 with the San Francisco 49ers. In 1952, he tied fellow rookie Ollie Matson for the league lead in non-offensive touchdowns, with three: one on an interception, and two on kick returns. For his efforts, he was awarded a spot in the Pro Bowl.
Williams played college football at USC. As far as I know, this is his only appearance on a card.
