1969 Saints Doubloons
There are 24 coins in the set of 1969 Saints Doubloons. According to Beckett, Pro Players Doubloons, Inc., produced the coins, and the Saints gave them out at home games in 1969. (This seems odd, because some of the players had left the team before the 1969 season started.) The coins are the size of a silver dollar, and they made of a light metal. They came in three colors: gold, silver, and bronze or brass. I don't know if each player was available in all three colors or just one. To my knowledge, four of the players on the coins--Ted Davis, Brian Schweda, Joe Wendryhoski, and Fred Whittingham--never appeared on cards.
