1958 Topps CFL Football Cards

1958 Topps CFL football card wrapperThere are 88 cards in the 1958 Topps CFL football card set. It is the first Canadian set that Topps produced. Eight of the nine 1958 CFL teams are represented, the missing team being the Montreal Alouettes. Montreal first appeared in a Topps set in 1959.

The design of the 1958 Topps CFL cards is the same as that of 1958 Topps NFL cards. Three players in the set who also starred in the U.S. are Cookie Gilchrist, who led the American Football League in rushing in 1962 and 1964; Tobin Rote, who was later elected to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame; and Frank Tripucka, who was later elected to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame.
