1955 Bowman Football Cards

1955 Bowman football card wrapperThere are 160 cards in the 1955 Bowman football card set. The cards were printed on 5 sheets, each holding 32 different cards. You can see what the sheets looked like on the Gallery's 1955 Bowman virtual sheet page. Bowman apparently printed fewer copies of the fifth sheet than the other four, because most of the scarce cards in the set appear on the fifth sheet.

Also see my blog article, B is for Bowman, for an overview of the 1948-1955 Bowman football card sets.

Rookie cards of Pro Football Hall of Famers in the 1955 Bowman set: Len Ford, Frank Gatski, John Henry Johnson, Mike McCormack, Jim Ringo, Bob St. Clair, Dick Stanfel. Rookie cards of Heisman Trophy winners in the 1955 Bowman set: Alan Ameche.
