1926 Spalding Champions Football Cards
The 1926 Spalding Champions set, sometimes called the 1926 Sports Company of America set, contains 210 cards. It is a multi-sport set, with sports as diverse as balloon racing, surfcasting, and checkers. You can see the full list of Spalding cards at oddlyquirky.com. Fourteen of the cards picture football players; they are pictured below. Among the fourteen are pre-roookie cards of Bennie Friedman and Ernie Nevers, both Hall of Famers, whose generally accepted rookie cards appear in the 1955 Topps All-American set. I have added the Friedman and Nevers cards to my pre-rookie card page. Another card, Bo McMillin, has two errors: his name is misspelled "McMillan," and the player on the card is actually someone else. You can see a photo of the real Bo McMillin on my page of football cards that picture the wrong player.
There is a picture of a sheet of 206 Spalding cards on the Legendary Auctions web site. There are spaces at the bottom of the sheet for four more cards, so apparently other sheets were printed that held all 210 cards in the set. I have not studied the 206-card sheet to see which four cards are missing.
